A lot of people say that the Earth is old, and that there have probably been many other civilizations in the past that we might never know about. They also say that one day the Earth will end. But other than the fact that both statements are completely untrue, I think this quote says something important. The Earth is not old.

It is not getting older. It has only been around for 4.5 billion years, and it will be around for another 4.4 billion years. Humans are no different than any other creature on this planet, and we will all die someday.

So what happens to this planet after we are gone? Well, it starts all over again when another civilization comes along and wipes everything clean again. If only humans could learn to be loving and kind to each other instead of treating each other like dirt, then maybe this planet would actually last for billions of years to come.
